Newbie here. I just built a "gallery site" with four image galleries, following the PAKT Site Blueprints book. Content type I created is "image". I set the front page to display "image", as instructed. And all was well. Everything worked. Gallery descriptions were displaying on the front page next to the thumbnails, as planned.
I continued to work on the site, and soon afterward I noticed that the gallery descriptions had disappeared from the front page. The only thing that I recall doing was to resetting the thumbnail size, slightly larger, in the Image settings. (BTW I was surprised that the thumbnails for all images resized to the new size "retroactively". Thumbnails for all content changed to the new size.)
Then I noticed that the Gallery Descriptions had become titles within the link tags for each gallery listing. As such, they do not display. Has anyone else reported this bug?

joachim commentedI'm not sure what it is you're showing me. Which gallery listing? And are you using Views?
stevemclure commentedNo, I'm not using VIEWS for this. I have a content type called IMAGES. On the site information page, I have set the default front page to "images". (That is: http://mysite.com/drupal/?q=images). As I said, I'm following the PAKT BLUEPRINTS book, and this all worked for an hour or so. On my front page I got a listing which included thumbnails and descriptions for each gallery. This is perfect for the gallery site I set out tobuild.
Soon after that, something happened that renders these descriptions as "link titles" (rather than gallery descriptions).

joachim commentedI've no idea what the Pakt book says, so that's not really useful information to me.
And you definitely don't have views module installed?
stevemclure commentedSorry. I did not explain this:
I have VIEWS installed. When I installed the IMAGES module last week, a default IMAGE-GALLERY view appeared in my VIEWS list. It is enabled. I have not modified it. Is this what is used to generate the home page I'm working on? Seems likely to me.
At the risk of repeating myself: The big mystery to me is how the descriptions initially appeared, but now seem to have become link titles. I'm getting in over my head here, but my guesses would be:
1. Database is now messed up... due to some sort of module conflict? I also have the developer module installed, and have noticed a few strange events when it is enabled.
2. Database is OK, but some sort of function is converting the descriptions to titles before the page is rendered?
3. I also have Simpleviews installed and enabled. It was required by an earlier PAKT-book exercise. I don't need it any more. Maybe I should disable it. (By the way, the PAKT book is frustrating... incomplete instructions and also some hideous mistakes... but I'm not going to blame them for the current problem until I learn more.)
Thanks for your prompt replies.

joachim commentedI have no idea what might cause this, and I have not used Simpleviews.
All I can suggest is that you check what the two gallery views are doing, and possibly revert them if they have been changed.
I'm afraid it doesn't seem I can offer any further advice.
