I have the following problem:

uploading a new image often or better always (it does not depend on the file-size or the file-mime) breaks when doing that on MAC. There is no problem when uploading images on windows systems.

when looking for the reason i found out, that the _original images were uploaded and saved in the database correctly, but the _thumbnails for the same image-node were also saved into the database but with the nid = 0; so as the pictures are only shown as thumbnails in the galleries the broken ones are not listed.

Has anyone an idea why the nid is set to 0 when the thumbnail was generated, but only on MAC??

(these facts might be useful: server: linux, drupal 4.6.4, latest image.module)
