Through no fault other than my own stupidity, I deleted the Image Galleries taxonomy vocab . . . of course, all the image galleries where deleted as well.

I have since recreated the image galleries and the vocab is not automatically created, I created a vocab for Image galleries and still not automatically created. Created both manually and of course not linked up.

Any advice on how I can "re-link" the two items.

Figured out how to fix the problem, though not sure was right way. It works!

Edit the MySQL database table 'variable'. Find two fields "image_default_path" and "image_gallery_nav_vocabulary". Both fields have a number in them (should be same), change that to the new category (vocab) id that had been recreated . . . mine went from 6 to 25.

Did have to recreate the galleries, but at least image gallery and taxonomy are not relinked.

No problems so far with anything bad happening as a result of the fix.
