I want to protect some page on my website (www.webcast-ku.net) Ex. http://www.webcast-ku.net/rss.xml and http://www.webcast-ku.net/podcast.xml (2 pages authorize for some role)
I will add ?authenticate after url (http://www.webcast-ku.net/rss.xml?authenticate) and in httpauth setting on admin page I add path "rss.xml" (no quote) in field box already.
OK It's work on webbrowser when connect feed but when I choose Software Reader. It has pop-up box for type username & password but It doesn't connect feed.
And I edit setting.php on line "use only cookie, 0" already but I have some problem with logout.
please help me.
I use OwlReader for read & test protect for rss.xml and iTune 7 for test podcast.xml
Thank you so much

decafdennis commentedHi mp3wizard,
Are you saying that authentication is working if you set the "use only cookie" setting to 0 in settings.php?
Yes, this module might keep you from logging out in your browser, this is a know issue. As long as you use an RSS reader or iTunes to connect to the feed, logging out will be fine. (Try to completely quit your browser or clearing your remembered passwords if you are still unable to logout.
If it's just the logout issue you're worried about, this is being worked on.

mp3wizard commentedI'm sorry maybe I describe. I start again
Now I set httpauthn for page name "rss.xml" and I add ?authenticate to my url (http://www.webcast-ku.net/rss.xml?authenticate) you can test when go to bottom icon RSS in my site and add it on my software reader (owlreader)
when I connect in OwlReader, It ask for user+pass. I key my user+pass, It can't connect to my site and status show "Reason:Unable to locate that file(403)" and "status: HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden"
I try to test many software reader (include iTune) for rss.xml and podcast.xml but I can't connect to my site via every software but webbrowser is ok.
How do I?
Plesae help me

decafdennis commentedOkay, so it does work correctly for the browser but just not for RSS readers and iTunes.
Can you provide me with a username and password so I can test? You can either post here or mail them to me using my contact form.
PS.: When you reply, you shouldn't change the title unless you want to change the title of the whole issue.

a.siebel commentedSubscribe.
If i try to login in the browser i can login via http without problems. With feedreader a login-form pop ups but it is impossible to register.
With securesite the login via feedreader does work. (But there are other problems)

a.siebel commentedI've tested without caching and it worked.
So, this issue is a duplicate of http://drupal.org/node/142358 .
decafdennis commentedGaara, your problem may have been related to the caching issue, but that doesn't mean that's true for everybody. So. this is not necessarily a duplicate of that issue.
Thanks anyway for your involvement.

decafdennis commentedI tested the latest development package with NetNewsWire and iTunes, and they both worked.
I'm closing this issue down.
