The Echo module at least could be turned into an optional, rather than required dependency.

It may also be possible to make the MailMIME integration a recommended, rather than required feature.

For those users who were perfectly happy with the 1.x branch feature-set, this would make sense.

Can we just remove these requirements from the info file and upgrade from 1.x to 2.x? Attempting to upgrade this is a nightmare if you're not a server admin.

Done and done. The only remaining dependency is "Mail System", and I don't see a way to get rid of that one.
