Error Message: Requires: Libraries (2.x) (incompatible with version 7.x-2.x-dev)

Can workaround this by commenting out the requirements in the module's .info file. I'm not sure how specific the requirements actually are (or can be), so I'm just testing a personal workaround at this point.

The info file says 'dependencies[] = libraries (2.x), which apparently is not the correct way to specify a version. Removing the "(2.x)" from that line works.

Unusable without this change, so critical.

Actually, that is the way you are supposed to specify a version, but the Drupal core code is broken. If you use the Drush make file, then the correct version of Libraries is installed.

See http://drupal.org/node/542202.

Hmm, I see you are following the documentation, but since it is broken it might be nice to warn people on the project page. I don't see any issue for that as a core bug, have you filed one?

To my knowledge it is a known issue for those working on project and related infrastructure items, a fix exists but has not been committed.

The bug occurs when there is only a dev release for the specified version on a dependency. That is the case with Libraries API, the only 2.x release is the dev release.

Also, I just committed a change to remove the version string from the info file.
