Hi
the loader is working great for desktop & mobile browsers alike, thank you.
The only problem i am getting is that on Blackberry OS6 the Lato Google font is not loading up and I have hit a bit of a brick wall trying to figure this one out. It seems that the SVG version is required, but I don't see an option to force that? There does seem to be some info on chrome also requiring SVG to look good too, but this looks to be working fine?
my lato.fontinfo is as follows:
name = 'Lato - Google Font'
google_families[] = 'Lato:300,400,700'
Any ideas?
Thank you for your help,
ice70

btmash commentedI wish I know a little bit more about google fonts. The main thing is that this is using the webfont loader which has its own github repo so I'm wondering if they have run into this issue over there (I wish I had a blackberry to test this out on - I'll see if I can use their sdk to emulate this scenario).
As a second note, does this work if you directly try to load the css from google for using the Lato font?

ice70 commentedHi BTMash
thank you for your reply.
I created a standard html page - no drupal integration at all - with the following styles:
.lato { font-family: 'Lato', "Times New Roman", Times, serif; } .other { font-family: "Times New Roman", Times, serif; }I had two text blocks, one with the class 'lato' and the other with the class 'other' so I could see the difference between the fonts if there was any.
On android, iphone and desktop browsers, there were differences but on a blackberry [blackberry-torch-9800 OS6] the two text blocks were the same.
If I use the agent switcher in firefox and go to http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lato I get a @font-face declaration of:
src: local('Lato Regular'), local('Lato-Regular'), url(http://themes.googleusercontent.com/static/fonts/lato/v6/v0SdcGFAl2aezM9...) format('truetype');
But I am sure I have read that svg is required for Blackberry?
Am I missing something?
thank you for your help,
ice70

btmash commentedSorry I couldn't get back sooner. But that is very interesting. I see http://www.ajgraham.com/2012/03/blackberry-font-face-css/ which mentions svg support but not svgz support (and on of the posts seems to imply os6 only had partial svg support so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it).
If you go to the google fonts site on your blackberry, does it work?
So I'm wondering if the svg is being sent as a gzip?

ice70 commentedHi BTMash
thank you for your reply.
I sent the blackberry guy to:
https://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Lato
and the font did not show as expected - it showed the default system font, not lato.
It's a Blackberry Torch 9800, running os6:
http://uk.blackberry.com/smartphones/blackberry-torch-9800.html
Apparently no OS updates have been applied.
thank you for your help,

btmash commented@ice70, I wish I could be of more help on this front. Were you able to get any further on the issue?
ice70 commentedHi BTMash,
No, just left it - for the small number of people this would affect we decided to leave the font as a system default rather than spend lots of time / money trying to figure it out. Me not having a blackberry to test on was not exactly helping either ;)
C'est la vie!
thank you for all your help,

btmash commentedI'm going to mark this off as closed in this case as it sounds an awful lot like google fonts + blackberry not getting along.
