The new wrapper div for the button - which is really a great thing that I've missed in the beta - outputs an additional double quotation mark, which breaks the HTML code, no matter if styling infos are added or not. Without additional CSS I get:

<div class="g-plusone-wrapper" ">

When I add a CSS code (e.g. 'margin: 0', then there's an additional error: the equal sign after 'style' is missing. So I get this HTML code:

<div class="g-plusone-wrapper" style"margin: 0"">

Nothing to thank for. It's the least I can do to report a bug, if someone does a great job for our community and releases a useful module...

Bug is fixed, I'll close it :-)
