If I change the 'Block specific settings' macro of the 'location map' block from:

[gmap |id=block0|zoom=10 |width=100% |height=200px |control=Small |type=Map]

to:

[gmap |id=block0|zoom=7 |width=100% |height=200px |control=Small |type=Map]

it changes back to:

[gmap |id=block0|zoom=10 |width=100% |height=200px |control=Small |type=Map]

after saving the block.

I found this also. I noticed it was reset in hardcode in the modules - this needs to be changed - but I dont know how.

However there is a way round this - just add the macro sequence you want in the spaces for the specific node types i.e. page or image. This overrides the default.

I have a similar problem: if I change the 'default location map' macro in admin/settings/gmap, it doesn't have any effect on the map that shows up when creating a new node.

I can't see anywhere that this is hard-coded in the module.

To answer my problem: it was using the value set for the default user block, rather than the value set for the default node block (this was a CCK node).

I also have this problem.. However in the blocks configuration page I only get the "map macro" I do not get any macros associated with node types. So I can not change anything for each node type.

Any ideas?

Hi there,

I found another way around this, I needed to change the height of the gmap block from 200 to 400 px.

I modified the gmap_location.module and it worked for me.

I changed all the 200 to 400 and that did it for me.

It seems that the default value is 200.

Hi,

I installed latest dev versions for gmap and locations modules, and now I have a problem with the block.

It does not let me change the default zoom for the macro that is provided, and also when I enable locations on some content types, in does not create and add the extra field so I couls add a specific macro for each content type.

Any ideas what should I do?

I was upgrading from a previous version of both modules, and ran update.php.

BTW, is it normal that the checkbox to 'enable' locations for a content type is now gone?

Any ideas what's wrong with the block?

Thanks

Yes, I have this problem too. I've got the map-in-node working, got the marker on the map-in-node working...but I can't change the size or zoom of the map.

When I go to admin >> blocks and select the "Location map" block from the list, there's an area for "Block specific settings" and a field to enter a map macro. But no matter what I put in there, when I save it and open it again, it's reverted to the original values, in my case: [gmapz|id=block0|zoom=10 |width=100% |height=200px |control=Small |type=Map]

(typo added to avoid a map displaying)

I have a similar, yet even stranger problem. For me it all worked perfectly fine then I was messing around with markers adding my own customized ones when all of a sudden the users map started to only display with the default settings, even though my settings worked before and the gmap_user_map field in the database is set. For now I'm changing the calls in gmap_location_user_page

  $output ='<p>'. t(variable_get('gmap_user_map_header', 'This map illustrates the extent of users of this website. Each marker indicates a user that has entered their locations.')) ."</p>\n";
  $default_marker = variable_get('gmap_user_map_marker', 'drupal');
    gmap_parse_macro(variable_get('gmap_user_map', '[gmap|id=usermap|center=30,0|zoom=2|width=100%|height=400px]'))

to return my defaults. But maybe I should get some sleep first? ;)
