Update from 2.0 to 2.10 breaks map: uncaught reference error: clusterer is not defined

Coming from issues related to

I recently upgraded from version 2.9 to 2.10 and the upgrade broke my map view. I'm using drupal 7.41, and after upgrading the Gmap module my map zooms to maximum extent and I get the same js error twice js_7P-9CsYxy54o4CB3xY2z2tXhixd1E7fSub5HAS4E7Hk.js:93 Uncaught ReferenceError: Clusterer is not defined

I can confirm that the markers are being created in javascript, but they aren't loaded into the map. Not sure how to resolve this without rolling back my site and staying at version 2.9.
