Howdy,
i updated from v 1.28 2006/05/22 to latest version, but now there is no way i can get my RSS pinpoints back...
I am using the following macro:
[gmap |id=map |center=18, 17 |zoom=2 |width=100% |height=400px |control=Large |type=Map |feed=school::/node/424/feed |feed=spot::/node/422/feed]
any idea of why? did something change in the module meanwhile? different macro or approach needed?...i'm pretty lost..
...
thank you very much

whalebeach commentedI tested it a few days ago and experienced the same as you.
It is because Location module provides 'lat' 'lon' value in rss but the function createMarkerFromRSS in gmap.js needs 'lat' 'long' balue.
You need to unify 'lon' or 'long'.
W3C standard is 'long' but I have very little idea which is better...

bdragon commentedActually, it's because I haven't converted RSS points to the new system yet.
marcoBauli commentedshall it be a feature request then? i offer for testing
Comment #4
bdragon commentedOh, this is a 4.7 issue? I haven't touched the 4.7 stuff. I guess this is a support request after all..
jjzeidner commentedI encountered this problem as well. Tried the Gmap.js fix( changing 'long' to 'lon' ) and that didn't do me any good. Is this issue still being worked on? Also is there any way I can get the same functionality in the Node Location page in an location RSS feed( some of the content shows up in a popup window ).
If anyone knows any quick fixes, please let me know...
marcoBauli commentedguess it's a bug then, as in the description page of the project this feature is clearly announced to be working, but it isn't at the moment:
Unfortunately the nly help i can give is with testing and feedback.
PS: what's the status of this functionality in 5.x version by the way?
marcoBauli commentedsorry for boging with this once more: can anyone tell if this issue was fixed in 5.x?

pkej commentedFeeds are working in 5.x, but only the first item in the RSS shows up in IE. On Mac with Safari, FF, Flock and Opera it works very well. I can not do testing on PC platform, as I abandoned it ;) See http://samipath.kulturarkitektene.no/node/3 for a gmap macro like this: [gmap zoom=8 |center=69.31249912982253,25.44708251953125 |width=700px |height=360px |control=Small |type=Hybrid|feed=numbers::/taxonomy/term/3,5/0/feed |feed=green::/taxonomy/term/2,5/0/feed |feed=big red::/taxonomy/term/4,5/0/feed ]
The first feed are the waypoint 0 and 1 on the map. The other feeds are the starting point and the end point. (Though I just used random points.)
I use tax 2 for start points, tax 4 for end points and 3 for waypoints. The tax 5 in all three are what connects these to the current article so with the , in the feed I get all points for the start, waypoints and ending for just this particular travel route.

marcoBauli commentedpkej: i can see exactly the same pinpoints on Mac and PC (IE6 run on Parallels emulator). Hope to be able to give this a try soon.
pkej commentedI've dropped this method in favour of the method described here: Howto: Creating user friendly mapping for non-drupal nerds. I'm going to update that article with the final working version. And perhaps add the screen cast I made for it.
Therefore no-one will be able to see the issue I described above, since I had to scrap the testing database to make the screen cast.

marcoBauli commentedsolved with Views or Taxonomy markers. thanks
