We've got less than 100 nodes with address fields that are geocoded to geofields, yet we've been seeing an OVER_QUERY_LIMIT error from Google for over a week now:
Exception: Google API returned bad status.\nStatus: OVER_QUERY_LIMIT in geocoder_google()
I applied the following patch to limit our request rate to Google (set to 1000ms).

That didn't solve the problem.
FYI, we can go days between adding a new address to the site, yet we still see this error 100% of the time. There's no way we're querying the Google API more than 2,500 times per day.
Is there any way to get around this problem? Seemed like Google's geocoding was working flawlessly while we were developing the site, and now our real estate listing maps are built entirely around Google's service and it's turned against us! Not sure what to do.
Wondering if anyone out there has found a way around this issue?

luk.stoops commentedI suggested a solution in a simular track:
https://drupal.org/node/2024809
could you try this out?
I'll close this track as "duplicate"

mattwhelan commentedI tried the above solution some time ago, but it didn't work.
We have a small number of nodes on our site, so I ended up adding dedicated latitude/longitude fields so we don't rely on geocoding from addresses. Sort of a nuisance, but I just wasn't able to get around the Google imposed query limit.
