G2 filter not returning properly formatted html

I am using the g2 filter in Drupal which is returning images properly but... there is no space before the closing image tag. Ie it goes right from the alt tag to the closing instead of
How do add the extra space before the tag close? I know this is super picky but it is required for this project.
