Hi,
I am trying to use Gallerix but I don't understand where the field 'Album Description' is supposed to be shown.
I type some text in it but once i save the album I can only see the pictures.

It's for internal use only, think of it as notes.

However, it is shown when you hover over the picture in the albums grid, assuming you're using views, at www.example.com/gallery

Is there any way to get it to show using theming? It would be great to have an introduction on the page so people know what they're seeing photos of.

Sure, the field is still loaded into $node->body so feel free to output this in your theme. If you are using phptemplate as your engine, copy node.tpl.php from your theme, rename it to node-album.tpl.php and add "print $node->body" wherever you want this field printed. You can also add surrounding tags to the description to theme it.
