I installed Front Page last night, and noticed that the items I have in my content block (most recent polls, blog entries, a news aggregator category) no longer appear. Everything else works great. The splash page displays, but when a user clicks through it and gets to the /node page, the content items are not there. The only things that are there are the items that I have explicitly promoted to the front page when posting content to the site.
What am I doing wrong here?
Thanks for a great plugin. If I can get this worked out, I'll be even happier with it.

dublin drupaller commentedtry the following snippet from the readme.txt
PROMOTED TO FRONT PAGE Example snippet
----------------------------------------
The default front page when you install Drupal for the first time, is 'node' which displays a list of node teasers, where the nodes have been tagged as pages that are 'Promoted to Front Page'.
If you want to recreate that node listing after installing the front_page.module, simply paste the following snippet into the text area provided on the front_page settings page and select the PHP filter before saving your new configuration.
the same snippet can be used in a regular node..i.e. go to CREATE CONTENT -> PAGE, paste the snippet into the main body, select PHP as the input filter and save. That will list all the teasers of nodes that have been "promoted to front page'.
In your case, instead of users clicking through to '/node/' you can setup a new page (with the snippet above in it) they can click through to, to get the same result when 'node' was the default front page.

What you wrote will also work, but here is what I did. Let me know if your way is better, or if mine is fine (i.e. - won't cause issues, or isn't against some Drupal rule that will cause the site to break at a future date when an update is published.)
When you go to:
http://www.example.com/admin/build/block
you configure where the items (recent blog posts, recent polls, etc.) will be displayed (sidebar, footer, content <- the "blocks").
For those items that I had in the "content" block, under "Page specific visibility settings" I selected "Show on only the listed pages." from the list. In the text field below that, I had entered < front > (no spaces between the brackets and the word - but I can't post it here if I do that) when I first set the site up. (Drupal tells you to do this under the text field if you don't know what else to put there.)
That all worked fine, until I installed Front Page. I just tried replacing with "node" (no quotes), and it all works again!
Is what I did OK? Do you think it will cause other problems? If so, I can do what you told me to do. Thanks!
