I disabled Front Page (used the uninstall routine on the bottom of the advanced front page settings) and now when a user logsin they get a "page not found" error (can goto the address bar and type /node or /home) and the URL reads www.mysite.net/front_page instead of node (which is configured under Site Information.
Any ideas what went wrong and how to fix this?
Even when I reenable Front Page I only get a blank page with a url including front_page?destination=front_page.

Phillip Mc commentedthere is no uninstall routine in the front_page.module (5.x-1.6).
To change the default front page for a site, go to Home › Administer › Site configuration

JHDYCompany commentedNot sure what version Front Page I am using . . . does not show in module listing. Downloaded last weekend so guessing recent version.
This is from the "advanced front page settings", so yes there was this option:
Deactivate and uninstall the Front Page module
Follow the steps below to deactivate and remove the front_page.module from your Drupal installation.
STEP 1: Remove all front_page settings from the database
PLEASE NOTE: REMOVING THE FRONT PAGE SETTINGS FROM YOUR DATABASE CANNOT BE UNDONE
YOUR DEFAULT SITE FRONT PAGE WILL REVERT BACK TO THE SYSTEM DEFAULT (NODE)
STEP 2: Once you have removed the front page settings from your database, you may safely delete the front_page.module and front_page.info files from your Drupal folder.
Under Administer>Site Configuration>Site information (front page is not enabled):
Default front page:
http://www.mysite.net/node
The home page displays content from this relative URL. If unsure, specify "node
Anyway, it is now fixed . . . reactivated front page, cleared any settings / writing, turned it on (setting to front_page), turned it off (setting to node), disabled front page. Might have had something to do with the home redirect???

vm commentedfor future reference to figure out what version of the module you are running, you can open the .module file and compare the top line looks similiar to // $Id: front_page.module,v 1.62 2007/01/23 18:21:38 jasonm3m Exp $
if your top line doesnt match the one in cvs or the most recent release, then you know you are running an oudated version.
