Datefield Error checking, false positive

After creating a new flexinode type and adding a new date/time field, I run into a problem create an actual node from this new flexinode type.

I fill out the date/time fields but still get an error on screen telling me to fill out these fields. Nothing seems to work and the error doesn't specify anything wrong with my entry, in fact it seem to think I haven't filled out anything.

Also, the form fields look terrible.

This is a fresh install of drupal cvs.
