Hi.
I've been using the flag module to allow users to bookmark pages. I'm currently trying to figure out how I can allow users to bookmark media (images, video, audio) the same way. I don't want to flag nodes because many times there are multiple media items on one page. I haven't seen any modules that can do this.
The goal is to flag unique media so the user can find exactly what they've bookmarked without searching for it and maybe even create a slideshow of all the media they've saved.
I'm thinking that if a cck field could be flagged, then this would be possible by storing the filepath value and the nid where it originated.
Any thoughts about this?

quicksketchI think this has come up before, but I couldn't find the matching issue.
Essentially, right now this is impossible to accomplish (even beyond the obvious UI problems). Flag is dependent upon a single, unique identifier for anything it flags. For users, this is UID, nodes = NID, comments = CID. Individual fields or items within fields do not have unique identifiers. They actually are made up of a combination of 3 keys: VID, Delta, and Field name. Considering there is no way to uniquely identify an individual field, they cannot be used with Flag.

eatsleepdev commentedYeah, I was playing around with the code and after a while I wasn't so sure it would be doable. Thanks for confirming my suspicions! Great job with Flag btw

drupalusering commentedhow about adding flag to views that lists titles of nodes for example. I have a view of a taxonomy term with filter for node type, and title field. Is there anyway to implement flag as a field ? or if it was possible to create a flag CCK field that would be awesome solution
