Hi,
I created a page with revisioning (Using the Revisioning module). Therefore I created different user roles. One of them is allowed to view and publish pending revisions. The other one only should view this revisions and comment them, but it is not allowed to publish file nodes. Also the second user role is not allowed to create, edit or delete other node types. That's why it has no 'administer node' permission
For users with the first user role everything works fine (they have 'administer nodes' - permission), but for the others the file preview is not accessible and a HTTP 403 error appears (see attached image). The menu for the file preview is visible and it tries to start the Flash but it results in the 403 error.
Other unpublished nodes are accessible for both user roles - nodes seems to be accessible but not the file preview within these nodes.
I've already read various articles about deactivating and reactivating BITCACHE API but it doesn't work for me. Also I've already tried to install various modules like view_unpublished but with no success.
Any help would be really great!
Thanks a lot and greetings,
Filburt

filburt commentedHi, me again,
I figured out that if the file node is created by the second role (without the 'administer nodes' permission) then also the preview on unpublished file nodes is accessible for this user role. Could the problem be related to some input fields which are not accessible for the second user role?
Thanks and greetings

filburt commentedOk, for testing I enabled all permissions for the second user role besides 'administer nodes'. But no success. That means that the problem is related to the 'administer nodes' permission.

filburt commentedCorrection to #1: Users without the permission 'administer nodes' have only access to the file previews on unpublished nodes of their own uploaded files. That means other users with the second user role (without 'administer nodes') are not able to access file previews in unpublished nodes by other users at all.
Really need help for this...
Thanks a lot + greetings

filburt commentedOk, I found a solution using the great Workflow module. Now new files nodes are published by default and the user access is managed by the additional user access settings which the Workflow module provides. Then everything seems to work fine - no conflicts with the user permissions of the file preview anymore.
In my case the Revisioning module is not necessary anymore but the Workflow and the Revisioning modules would also work together.
Maybe this information could help somebody...
