Just worrying about Miglius who is silent from March 8th

A couple of Issues are outstanding from this date. Thank God, the module is extremely stable and well thought so most issues are self resolving.

This module is just too great and indispensable to be at risk of being abandoned.

So, Miglius is definitely out of this module?

This complex module really needs a maintainer, or it would collapse before long.

I really worry about the future of my sites, and though I know no approaching alternatives in D6 or D7, I might reverse to less sophisticated approaches to file management, or get out of Drupal on this matter.

Any comment/opinion/suggestion about the situation of this module?

i would support this modul at my freetime.
but i think one person is not enough.
May i can spend 2-3 hours per week.

I am afraid something bad might have happened to the developers.
Miglius use to be raisonnably responsive, but 7 months without a word is worrying.

I understand that johanneshahn offered to take on the maintenance?

By the way, I see not alternative to this module, I don't see anything close in D7.

ur right

the development for required rdf modul has totally changed for d7. i think it will not be back ported to d6.
the fileframework has to be rewritten for d7 and i had lots of problems with fileframework and performance.

i think the best idea is to take the base from ffm and make a new one under ffm2 or something else.

what r u thinking about that?

Would be fantastic.
However,
- D6 shall continue to be supported
- FF represents a HUGE work...
- migration shall be taken care off... ff1-> ff2, d6->D7

FF is one of the main reason I'll not go for D7, waiting for D8 to possibly get in file management.

hi jvieille,
i've made a working copy of fileframework and started to bring the sandbox project into
a new real module project.

there was a lot of work to convert fileframework to ffw2 (renaming functions, testing, etc.)

i made only basic tests, but the new ffw2 will work together (parallel) with fileframework now.
next i'll write a instruction how to move fileframework content/files to fileframework2 (ffw2).

Do you have appropriate funding for addressing this work?
What do you suggest to make it as resilient as possible? Pushing to make it part of Drupal Core ? Encourage to integrate other file related modules?
I noticed that Dries was working on CMIS integration, but that kind of approach would certainly not match the flexibility and simplicity of FF.

This type of functionality is very sensible. Particularly, Bitcache makes files practically unrecoverable in case the modules stop working...

i think drupal is a great framework and i want to give something back for all that good work.
i use FF in several projects like cck or views.
of course i need some help and feedback from u/community to keep it alive.

ff will never be a drupal core issue (to many third party)

its for me, u and all
