Going from 3.2 to 3.7 and the update.php is failing with "An HTTP error 404 occurred. http://mysite.com/update.php?id=35&op=do", which I guess is generic. Going to the linked error page shows "The update process was aborted prematurely while running update #6100 in filefield_meta.module. yada yada".

I've looked in the watchdog table, there are no errors, there's nothing in the linked logs, and the update (adding the 'tags' column I believe) hasn't been run. This is a dev system, so there's very little data in it, no audio data at all, so there aren't any records to update.

I didn't disable the module before running the update, but I did delete the old Filefield module directory before extracting the new one.

Any ideas where I should be looking?

Actually, I have a bigger issue; I can't update any modules, so I suspect this is not related to Filefield.
