I'm working on an integration of the SlideShare API with FileField module. I think about releasing it in a separate module using filefield hooks to automatically upload a presentation file (powerpoint, pdf, etc...) to SlideShare. The module would provide a view of the embedded presentation and thumbnails. Anyone interested?

Great idea! I'm just taking a look at this for our company site, and this would make it much easier for us to share that that type of content.

This sounds like a great proposal. The functionality is much to specific to be part of FileField itself of course, but it would be a great contributed module. You might want to check what other people are doing with the Slideshare API. Just make sure that you don't create a module that duplicates an existing Slideshare module, but I haven't seen anything like that myself.

Here's a very brief discussion on Slideshare: http://drupal.org/node/242215, perhaps some of those users might be interested in collaboration.

I totally subscribe!
This would be a great tool especially since slideshare is growing in popularity.
I have been searching for a more integrated approach to embed slideshare presentation into Drupal 6.x beyond just pasting the html code into the body field, but I couldn't find almost anything.
I'd really would like to help, but being a non-programmer all I can offer is my support for testing...
Please keep up this initiative!
Thanks a lot

I'd encourage people to continue in http://drupal.org/node/242215 or start a new post in the forum. The FileField queue is not the appropriate place to discuss writing a new module.
