I have a file upload field setup to allow unlimited files.
When I create new content there is the single file upload field. However, if I save (with or without files added) then edit the node it displays 2 upload fields?

The attached screenshot is an edited node that didn't have any previous files uploaded.

Sorry, seems to be this issue: http://drupal.org/node/386288 again.
Any progress on this?

Unfortunately the hack we used to "fix" #386288: Reduce standard 2 upload sections to 1 when "Unlimited" number of values only works on new nodes, not when editing. This issue needs to be fixed in CCK: #320313: CCK multiple values: two empty fields showing up - make it one or none?.
