Would it be possible for users to be given access to a folder for view, not admin, but have the ability to add new add new sub-folders, and files? Basically, I need to create a new folder for a client on the site. Then add a few folders for sharing documents with them. I don't want them to delete their main folder "Folder Client Name", or change permissions. But, I would like them to be able to add new folders to their "top-level" folder "Folder Client name".

Does this make sense?

If not, then try this. I am a moderator for the site (admin rights for all Filedepot). I create a folder for Mr. Shawn Peters in the top level named "Peters, Shawn". By default, only users with the moderator role can view/edit/delete folders/files. I then add Mr. Shawn Peters' user account to this folder with the permissions "View Folder", "Upload Direct", Upload Versions", and, hopefully a new one, "Admin sub-folders".

Now when Mr. Shawn logs in to view filedepot, he cannot change the top folder of "Peters, Shawn", but he can add new folders for "Legal documents", "Financial statement", etc. I, and other moderators, can share with Shawn his account summaries, prospectuses, and other support files into his main folder, and he has the ability to share with us his own documents.

What do you think?

You can create a subfolder and give the user folder admin to just that subfolder. They will then be able to create folders under that subfolder as needed and manage permissions for their folders. You normally don't give general users folder admin permission to the top level folders.

So if I understand correctly, I should create a folder named, "Peters, Shawn" as a top-level and give appropriate permissions (view, upload), and then within that folder, I create a few folders say, "Account summaries", "Prospectuses", "Forms", and then maybe "Your uploads". I can give "view, upload" access to the first three, but "folder admin" to the "Your uploads". If I do that, then they will not be able to delete "Peters, Shawn" or the main three I've added, however, they will be able to add sub folders to their "Your uploads". Am I understanding correctly?
