Noting that D7 MERCI Inventory requires Field Sync. Supposing that MERCI Inventory is not required for reservation systems. Wondering if there isn't a high demand for MERCI Inventory for other users. Or if there is another inventory module or solution that others are using.

High demand does not directly translate into larger number of development resources. CCK fields and field groups have both been rewritten so updating this module will also be a complete rewrite.

I'm not familiar with who is using MERCI and to what extent MERCI Inventory is used among MERCI users. Nor do I know if anyone has started to switch from MERCI D6 to MERCI D7. I see a few issues in the issues queue.

The question really is, how functional is MERCI without MERCI Inventory being functional at this point? Does it make sense to attempt to move in the direction of implementing MERCI D7 without MERCI Inventory?

Field Sync should now work well for synchronizing fields like Serial Number across multiple content types. I've changed the status to "needs review". If you have time to test the module and everything is working for you, please update the issue to closed (fixed).
