Hello,
I experienced a WSOD at feed importer creation, here is the trace:
[Mon Jul 19 15:03:53 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Exception' with message 'Empty configuration identifier.' in /var/www/drupal-installation-profiles/testing/modules/contrib/feeds/includes/FeedsConfigurable.inc:56\nStack trace:\n#0 /var/www/drupal-installation-profiles/testing/modules/contrib/feeds/feeds.module(586): FeedsConfigurable::instance('FeedsImporter', '')\n#1 /var/www/drupal-installation-profiles/testing/modules/contrib/feeds/feeds_ui/feeds_ui.admin.inc(191): feeds_importer('')\n#2 /var/www/test.triage/www/includes/form.inc(776): feeds_ui_create_form_validate(Array, Array)\n#3 /var/www/test.triage/www/includes/form.inc(721): form_execute_handlers('validate', Array, Array)\n#4 /var/www/test.triage/www/includes/form.inc(586): _form_validate(Array, Array, 'feeds_ui_create...')\n#5 /var/www/test.triage/www/includes/form.inc(405): drupal_validate_form('feeds_ui_create...', Array, Array)\n#6 /var/www/test.triage/www/includes/form.inc(119): drupal_process_form('feeds_ui_create...', Array, Array)\n#7 [internal function]: drupal_get_form('feeds_ui in /var/www/drupal-installation-profiles/testing/modules/contrib/feeds/includes/FeedsConfigurable.inc on line 56, referer: http://test.triage.guinevere/
An uncaught exception with Drupal is bad, either it's a real bug, wrong form validation (or missed validation which cause the submission to crash).
Notice that I'm using the latest patch of this issue: #744660: Expand batch support to fetchers and parsers which can be found at this comment: http://drupal.org/node/744660#comment-3219770

pounardAh, it can be theme dependent, I had to manually click on the "edit machine name" link (without even changing the value) and it worked. For a totally unknown reason, the form validation process did not find the machine name (set by javascript) until I clicked on the edit link.
Once I done it, all is OK, and in the next form in the creation workflow, I had one "Machine name field is required." per reload I done on the WSOD screen to catch the trace.

attheshow commentedSame issue here. Clicking on "edit" for the machine name let me get past this and continue setting up the importer.

alex_b commentedCan you upgrade to beta6 and confirm that the issue persists?
Comment #4
pounardActually I cant, I use some patches for which I needed to fix the Feeds version I'm using. I don't really have time to port right now. As soon as I can I'll do it.

alex_b commentedOk, please reopen then.

ayesh commentedI'm getting the error again in the latest version to the date.
As a comment mentioned machine name, I changed theme to Garland but still no success.
