Clean drupal 8.8.2 install, with both File and Image core modules enabled (Media is not enabled). I am trying to import files using CSV upload fetcher/parser and the File processor, but when adding mapping, the "File ID" field is not a target option, only the file attributes (file mime, filesize, filename, langcode, etc. please see screenshot)
I have tested a similar mapping on a separate install of drupal 8.8.2, but with Media module enabled, and using the Media processor, which gave the File ID option (screen-2.png). Maybe I'm missing a step or config?

megachrizI think this is because there's no mapping target for entity ID yet. Adding a target like that is complicated, mostly in the case of update entities: when an ID is set it usually cannot be changed (or maybe it can, but then everything linked to the entity in question gets unlinked).
