I have several importers configured to use the file upload. The upload directory for those importers is set to private://feeds. If I use the Feeds Importer (/import) then the uploaded files are placed into the private files folder. However if I use feeds-import to perform the same task, the file is placed into the public://feeds folder.

This seems to no longer be an issue. I tested with the latest patch from #608408: Drush integration for Feeds. When supplying a file with the "file" option, the file isn't placed at all in a feeds directory.

drush feeds-import my_importer --file=content.csv
