If a feature component identifier has non-alphanumeric characters in it, the Feature creation UI doesn't work (see attached image and original issue #906686: Components in features exports are not correctly displayed in features UI). Is there a way to support identifiers with non-alphanumeric characters?
In this case, the exportable objects are mailboxes- thus, it makes perfect sense for the identifier to be an email address (which necessarily have '@' and '.', along with other non-alpha-numeric characters). It would be very cumbersome and make for a bad UX for the identifier to be anything else.

danepowell commentedI'd really appreciate some input and resolution on this, it's blocking a stable release of Mailhandler...
Everything else about the CTools exportable using non-alpha characters seems to work just fine, it's only the Features UI that seems to be broken.

danepowell commentedWith the helpful input of merlinofchaos in #1135256: Effects of non-alphanumeric identifiers, I've decided to switch to alphanumeric machine names, with some UI trickery to obscure it from users... I am assuming this is not something that will be "fixed" in Features
