I updated the module to Beta1 and then tried Dev and I lose the loading of jquery.js If I go into the module and comment out the drupal_add_js(drupal_get_path('module', 'featured_content') . '/featured_content.js'); everything goes back to playing nice. Any idea as to where to go from here?

That is bizarre... The js file isn't doing anything particular unusual. I'm not sure where to begin debugging that. I'll try to look into it tomorrow.

In the meantime I have adjusted the module weight in the database flushed the cache and now things are working correctly however this may not solve the true issue. Thanks for taking a look at it.

Can you explain how you could tell that jquery.js wasn't loaded? I'd like to have a way of verifying/testing besides just viewing the source code.
