I got a very strange behaviour of the FCKEditor for a self developped field to manage information about a dance course. This field consists of two plain text fields (course titel, course location) and a textarea (course description).

Then I created a new content type to which I added the compound course field (field_kurs) and a CCK textarea field (field_txt).

When I then try to create a content node of this new CCK content type I got the error message "Error: The TEXTAREA with id or name set to "oFCK_2" was not found" popping up and afterwards instead of the FCKEditor for field_kurs I only get the simple text entry field displayed. For the other two textareas (body, field_txt) the FCKEditor shows up !

I then went through troubleshooting "I followed the instruction, but FCKeditor doesn't show up (195759, 196549)" and found out:

  • var oFCK_1..., var oFCK_2... and var oFCK_3... section show up and there does not seem to be any difference between the section for field_kurs and field_txt
  • All three
  • BUT: the section
    ...

    is missing

  • I also had a look at the fckeditor.module. But I cannot figure out how this section cannot be rendered for. Has anyone a clue what my problem could be? (The HTML code of the content node in edit mode is attached)

I'm having a simmilar problem. Did you close the issue because you found a solution?

I fixed the problem by disabling fckeditor altogether for this input format since my nodetype didn't have a textarea. Apparently not having a textarea and trying to use fckeditor causes this problem.

An image of the error I got is attached. It appears that the editor does not like it when a CCK text field is a single line field set to allow HTML. I changed the field to plain text and it works. If I want HTML, I have to make it a multi-line field.

Side note: Views won't honor a row style set to have inline fields when one of the fields in multi-lined.
