Hi all,
I have some performance problem on my site related to fckeditor usage and I was hoping for some advice.
After putting fckeditor EDITOR files (not module ones) via FTP on the site NOT EVEN ENABLING THE MODULE, load time of the page admin/by-module goes to 4/5 secs to 11/12. Anyone has experienced this problem? I have tried to put just needed files (deleting unneeded translations, connectors and samples)
I have tried alpha version of the module too, with no luck. Has anyone noticed the same problem?
My environment is windows and this is the only module (I am in "debug" mode 8?) ) with all " performance" boost enable in the settings section
Con anyone provide a solution to this problem?

wwalc commentedI am not sure if I understood your problem correctly, but the more files you have in the modules directory, the more files Drupal have to parse each time you visit the "admin/build/modules" section. It shouldn't affect any other things, including the speed of serving your site content to visitors.

poehnix commentedIt affects (to say) the "admin/by-module" page too. I was going to live with it but I will try to study the phenomenon better to provide additional information.
As additional info, my environment is windows + apache and php has openbasedir turned on.

poehnix commentedAfter months (ok not all the time have been spent looking at this issue 8?) ) I was able to find an answer to my own question.... It's nothing related to fckeditor module.... my hosting provider has open_basedir turned on and that's the reason for the sluggish performance. I guess that was particularly evident with fckeditor because of the number of files that are involved
Hope this helps someone saving some headaches
Bye
