Since upgrading to fckeditor to 2.6.3 and the latest fckeditor module 6.x-2.0-alpha4 or 6.x-1.3-rc6 the editor won't appear, after doing a little investigation on by my PowerPC and Intel Mac (Safari, Firefox) it seems that the browser is not identifiying itself. This is what I have found:
PowerPC
_SERVER["HTTP_USER_AGENT"] Mozilla/5.0 (000000000; 0; 000 000 00 0 000000; 00000) DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD DDDDDDD DDDD DDDDDD DDDDDDDDDDDDD DDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Intel
_SERVER["HTTP_USER_AGENT"] Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_5_6;en-us) AppleWebKit/525.27.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.2.1 Safari/525.27.1
to me it seems that in fckeditor/fckeditor/fckeditor_php4.php and fckeditor_php5.php the FCKeditor_IsCompatiableBrowser() function fails.
If I'm wrong is there a work around to modify this function to work?

wwalc commentedYup, you have to adjust the FCKeditor_IsCompatiableBrowser() function manually for FCKeditor to work.
Sometimes the _SERVER["HTTP_USER_AGENT"] string on Mac computers is simply strange.
Try adding:
else if ( strpos($sAgent, 'DDDDDD') !== false ) { return TRUE; }or something similar - it's definitely not a perfect solution, but maybe it will work.
