Hi, thanks for the module.

I can get the FCKeditor toolbar to show up after installation but none of the toolbar icons appear. I'm using the garland theme. I've tried it in both IE7 and FF3. I thought maybe the toolbar icons were uploaded in ascii by accident so I uploaded both the fckeditor module and fckeditor itself again in FireFTP's binary mode. I've attached a screenshot to show what it looks like. I'm using D6.2.

Thanks again..

Hi thanks for the response.... Yes I can see the icons fine on the demo page in either IE or FF. Is it possible there is a conflict with another module? These are modules I have installed:

Advance Help
Global Redirect
Google Analytics
Nodewords
Pathauto
Pingback
Token

What is the directory where the toolbar icons are located at so I can check the directory and try loading just the icons in the browser? I tried to look for them but there are many image files in many directories.

Any other suggestions? Thanks again....

Do you have any suggestions for troubleshooting this?

Can you provide a test login to that environment? And you could try debugging this using FireBug. With firebug you can see what the image of the button is and perhaps that gives a clue.

Dittto for me. No icons.
Am using Drupal 5X Just upgraded FCKEditor. Had Icons before the upgrade, but none now. Also, occasional message that I do not have DrullFull or DrupalBasic.

Just rolled back to previous FCKEditor moodule version AND FCKEditor program--no icons.

Just reinstalled TinyMCE--no icons.

Gone--
Don't even know where to start looking for them.

Could you please arrange a test account and send the details using the private contact form of drupal.org?

My suggestion: try disabling all other modules and check if FCKeditor works. Then enable each module separately and this way check which module breaks FCKeditor.
If the other module is causing such problems, please let us know the name of the module and its version.

I disabled the FCKeditor for a few days then enabled it again in order to troubleshoot it more. When I enabled it again the icons showed up and it worked fine. I did not disable any other modules. As far as I know nothing had changed during the few days it was disabled so unfortunately I can't pinpoint what caused it. If I lose the icons again I'll try to figure out what triggered it.

I am having the same problem at the moment. All the functions of fckeditor work but the icons are missing. In addition a descrition of the function appears as the icon paces over the button.

Interesting... If anyone experience such issue in the future, please post a link to the test site so that we could check it if it's just a browser caching issue.

Duh!!! I feel like such a lamo it's hard to admit what I've done, but:: in case anyone here has made the same mistake ~ I had my ftp client configured for ascii transfers, which f'd up the icon images. I re-uploaded after configuring the client to automatically select transfer types, and now it works.

duh!

@tylergannon: thanks for posting this. It seems that most of people having such problem did the same thing.

Title: toolbar shows up but toolbar icons don't » toolbar doesn't show up and my fix

I was actually having the same problem as many others that the FCKeditor toolbar would not show anything. For those of you who are learning like I am, I am going to finish filling you in where others have stopped 2 years ago. I have been working on finding this fix for 12 hours, so I hope this is helpful and I can save you some time. So here is something recent.

First, I never got the toolbar to show with FCKeditor. I did figure out part of the problem with the library situation, but decided to fix it by switching to another editor. No big change. Still working just fine.

The problem was the FCKeditor ... After you have unzipped and uploaded to the modules folder, then done the same with the editor to the FCKeditor folder, you must create a libraries folder in sites/all/libraries folder right under the modules folder. Then upload your FCKeditor unzipped files to that location. Several errors showed up once I ran the update.php, so I switched gears.

Go to Administration>Modules, go to the bottom under User Interface and enable Wysiwyg. Now go to site configuration, the Wysiwyg at the bottom will be a link. Click there and it will show you all of the editors you have to choose from and which are already installed. All of the installation links are there and it tells you what the folder name needs to be in the libraries folder. This is very helpful since it will automatically detect what you have and which ones have problems once you run update.php. I actually downloaded, unzipped, and uploaded a few to their folder so I could see which ones would work and which still needed work. I am not interested in editing someone else's coded nothing. I need a quick fix that works and I found it in CKEditor.

By this time, you should have your chosen editor uploaded to the libraries folder. There is no need to update the modules folder with this. I think that was a FCKeditor thing. Go to the modules page and click on update.php. Select the Wysiwyg update at the end of the list and finish the update. Now when you return to the Admin>Site Configuration>Wysiwyg, there should be a green check next to the editor that is ready. You will also notice that is will ask you to choose your input format for the Full Html, Filtered Html, etc. Don't forget to check which buttons you want to show for each profile.

Okay, that's about it. It's working. Now for other issues that I found.

My whole purpose was to get my status page and available updates page to be all green, with maybe a few yellow. Just so you know, most of the modules can be downloaded, unzipped, uploaded to their sites/all/modules folder without problems. I then choose the ones I updated in the update.php, but most were already chosen for me. Update, check your reports to make sure they took, then you're done. It's not that difficult. I think some of the people in here are too smart and don't know how to leave simple breadcrumbs with the newbies.

Hope this helps whoever finds it. Good luck!

You've posted this in the wrong issue tracker. This is the issue tracker for the FCKeditor-only module, not for the generic Wysiwyg module. Please see http://drupal.org/project/wysiwyg
