Hi, please help me
I am using the latest version of the FCKEditor module and I've uploaded all the files correctly to the modules folder, both the module and the editor folder.
I have followed all of the instructions and read through all the support requests and the editor appears to be installed correctly - everything is in the correct folders etc. My theme has the the 'print $scripts' and 'print $closure' statements are in the page.tpl.php and still, I cannot get the FCKEditor to show up in any of the fields.
I've followed the instructions to make the necessary adjustments in the Administrator Site Config and Admin User Management. I've also cleared my cache, read all the support issues and am using mainly firefox, its not working in IE7 either, and I've tried everything I've read about.
I'm very new to Drupal, so I may have missed something else. If it is a newbie problem, please forgive me for wasting your time, but I'm sure you know how frustrating it can be for us, hehe :-)
I'd appreciate your help.
Thanks
Haroun

wwalc commentedHi,
Let's check once again:
1. do you have fckeditor.html file in "modules/fckeditor/fckeditor/editor" (it's only one of many required files, but this is to confirm that you have copied everything to the right directory)
2. check permissions (Administer > User Management > Access Control )
3. switch for a second to a garland theme and check whether FCKeditor appeared
4. turn on Firebug in Firefox and check for any javascript errors
If nothing helped, send me a PM with a link where I could check it (if possible).

harouni commentedHi
Thanks so much for your help. I don't know why but suddenly its there. Perhaps my cache didn't clear properly last time.
Heck I'm not sure why its working all of a sardine, but it is.
Maybe its your willingness to help out a total idiot inspired the Lords of Gremlins to leave my site alone.
Whatever it may be, its seems to be working now, so again thanks for taking the time.

jvasko commentedHaroun,
Can you tell me specifically what you did with the following:
* My theme has the the 'print $scripts' and 'print $closure' statements are in the page.tpl.php (I'm not sure what you did here or exactly where to check this)
* I've followed the instructions to make the necessary adjustments in the Administrator Site Config and Admin User Management. (Could you send me a link to where these instructions are or list them?)
I'm also having trouble installing FCK. The post about the making sure the files are in the right directory helped. Thanks for getting this thread started.

Holy Sarcasm commentedI'm having a similiar problem. After switching themes like you advised, I found my problem. The editor does not work with my theme (thirteen). However if I switch to the Garland theme, it works. I'm using Module 5.x-2.0-beta with the latest version of the editor (version 2.5). Also running drupal 5.4.
Is this an issue of the module? the editor? or the theme?
If this is a theme issue, what do I have to change to make the editor work.

I need advise how to get editor working on the THIRTEEN theme.

I also noticed that someone else has the same issue with TINYMCE on the THIRTEEN theme

webinator commentedThanks wwalc. You got me at the first point. Didn't read the README file. Pretty new to drupal. Assumed all the packages are complete in themselves.
