Just putting in my problem and the solution in case someone else runs into the same thing. If you upgrade from a previous version of FCKeditor and find that you can no longer see your previously uploaded files in the file browser, note that new files uploaded will be put into folders that are all lower case. This will result, for example, in two folders named "images," one in all lower case, one with a capital "I" that was previously used and which contains all your previously uploaded imges. An update to FCKeditor changed the file /editor/filemanager/browser/default/connectors/php/io.php to include two "strtolower" function calls, resulting in lower case media folders being used. Deleting these two references will restore the use of capitalized folders.

If you are installing FCKeditor for the first time or haven't got any media files in the old folders, do not alter this file. Leave as is.

ontwerpwerk commentedThanks for that info .. I was aware of the change to all lower case directory names - but I haven't made the connection to update problems before...
Unfortunately I cannot fix this in a straightforward way for the FCKeditor module, so I'll incorporate this into the module documentation.
