drupal for facebook works OK until I activate the ads module the message is:
The Facebook Application labeled peoplenews has a suspicious connect_url. The value is http://peoplenews.me/, while something starting with http://peoplenews.me/sites/all/modules/ad was expected. Consider editing peoplenews.

The link to "peoplenews" also includes /sites/all/modules/ad

If I deactivate the ads module, everything is ok again.

That's a warning from fb_devel.module. You may be able to just ignore it.

I'm guessing the ad module implements custom_url_rewrite functions, because that's a strange URL to have sites/all/modues/ad in it.

Thanks for your answer.
I am exited with the facebook integration I want to use with a newspaper and we need the ads, I am planning to switch to openx as i cannot see solution with the module drupal ads.
The issue is that the links doesn't work, its not only a warning because links are also affected.

Sounds like a problem with ads module. What is the URL in your browser when you see this error?
