thedavidmeister commentedI have a feeling that unless you can find a documented part of the facebook API to achieve this you'll have to hack up the login form with javascript after it renders which goes against point 3 in section I of the developers platform policies http://developers.facebook.com/policy/#policies

Dave Cohen commentedFacebook gives you some options and as far as I know you're allowed to change the appearance of the login buttons. I'm not sure if the question here is "how do I override theme('fb_login_button')" - which is a basic theming question you can find the answer elsewhere on drupal.org. Or is the question, "how do I make a link that logs a user into facebook?"
There's a couple answers to that latter question, because facebook relatively recently started supporting links described here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/authentication/server-side/
However, with modules/fb 3.x, your best bet is a link like
<a href="#" onclick="FB.login(); return false;">...</a>See theme_fb_login_button() for more complicated markup designed to show the right thing when user is connected or not.
