ability to use imagecahce as a source for thumbnails and the big image, So when user click on the thumbnail the browser will request the big image from big image imagecache preset.

I believe what you are asking for is the ability to load images when the thumbnail is clicked, rather than on page load. Currently the behaviour is to load all images when the page loads. There are no plans to change this though. Sorry about that.
