Can External Links be selectively disabled?

Can External Links be selectively disabled? The module works perfectly in the $content area. However, we have css-generated rollovers in our menus. When an external link is placed in this menu, External Links causes the menu to display oddly. Ideally, I'd like to disable the module when applied to a id or class. Thanks, this is a cool module. -NP
