I get the following errors when trying to save an event-enabled node that was created when the module wasn't enabled.
* warning: checkdate() expects parameter 3 to be long, string given in /home/calumea/public_html/eliot/sites/default/modules/event/event.module on line 1699.
* The specified date is invalid.

carnage_ commentedI believe this is caused by the event not having its timezone correctly specified. I was having similar troubles with an event created by a user who hadn't specified their timezone in their profile.
-you can check this with a mysql query similar to 'SELECT * from event where timezone = 0' If your event turns up, your problem is the same as mine.
My 'fix' for this issue is to insert a timezone with the field `timezone` set to 0 with the rest of the data copied from my sites default timezone. This will eventually require a coded fix but till one is made available, this seemed like a perfectly adequate solution to me.

rares commented@carnage_, I believe you are correct. I know that I was having trouble setting the timezone and that the site would tell me it wasn't set even though I went to the form a few times and saved it.
I don't have that development site anymore, and I now use date/calendar, so I can't follow up on the problem.
