suggested changes to httpd.conf cause error on server

Hi,

Reading the readme.txt, I was directed to the file extra/episodes.httpd.conf.
This contains suggestions about what to paste into httpd.conf
I pasted that and it caused the server to crash
I type service apache2 restart and got a failed message.
I tried putting a file named zerobyte.txt in the root of the site (is that what is meant by the "htdocs directory" in the comments?), but to no avail.
I'm sure this module is full of potential, but for the moment I can't get it to work (this is the third hurdle i am stumbling on, see other issues). I think I'll switch over to something else for a while...
