I needed a way to give user the option to autocreate the entity with the same name (title).

Use case:
In some cases the user might want to create another node with the same name:
Give option to create another identical entity same as existing
Entities with the same Title

Please consider adding this patch or something similar to future release.

Provided patch for version = "7.x-1.1+8-dev" . Needs review.

That patch cannot apply in this module.
As you've found, adding this sort of feature requires changing the behaviour of entityreference.module itself, and its UI.

The entityreference_autocreate module specifically supports cases where no extra editor actions or choices are needed. It works silently.

As on the project page - if you want to take any more steps to allow editors to choose between re-use and creation or editing on a step-by-step basis, I recommend:

That module can be used in association with this one if you want.
