Get "historical" data in views for entity reference fields?

Hi,

In views you can get the field data from a specific node revision by creating a views starting with "Content revisions" instead of "content". Here you get fields under "Content (historical data)" group where the field revision tables are joined. Unfortunately the Entity Reference fields does not appear with historical data. So it seems that there is no way to get the referenced entities which were referenced withing a specific node revision. Is there a reason for that? Would it be possible to get field revision data into views in any way?
