Will now test with UUID-module enabled, as UUID's are non-integer ID's.

No luck, when I choose a bean block with the button, embed it and save the node, I get

notice: Undefined offset: 9 in entity_embed_render_embed()

I believe this is a duplicate of #2527008: Display cache breaks bean display.

I'd suggest applying the patch to see if it fixes this issue.

Thanks for you quick response, yes that patch solved my issue. I can now embed a bean block type that has a viewfield. I created block content in which I included a view slideshow and now I can embed inline slideshows.
