I tried to add a field Content: Groups audience (editable) but that does not exist?
Please inform me if this is by design, or that this should be available somewhere..
thanks!

It's a field, so it should show up. Unless its storage type isn't field_sql_storage. Can you check the info for that field?

I'm stumped,,the Group Audience has field og_group_ref which is the standard field created by the OG module, it is indeed visible in the database as type field-sql_storage, but it doesn't show up in the fields when I try to add it to a view. I first thought that I needed a relationship in the view, but even adding that doesn't make the editable field appear!

If you look at the code, you'll find this:

    // Some fields just aren't there, such as OG ones.
    if (!isset($data[$table][$column])) {
      continue;
    }

OG fields aren't stored in the database table for the field, but somewhere else that I haven't completely figured out. They will need special handling.

Maybe we can transfer this issue over to the OG module issues, and get some feedback from there..

It's more a question of figuring out either:

- are the skipping conditions in hook_views_data_alter() too strict?
- what special conditions do we need for OG fields?

I'm not a coder myself, but maybe it would help to check out how editablefields module does things https://drupal.org/project/editablefields

Priority: Normal » Major

With regard to compatibility with Organic Groups:
The moment I add the relationship 'og membership: membership from node' and save, the view shows the fields in in normal way instead of editable.
I tested it with other relationships but it specifically fails when using this og relationship.
