All ajax saving fields now have save buttons suddenly

I've used this module many times and it works pretty well. But SOMETIMES something will cause all the fields to display a save button and just typing and clicking away no longer triggers an ajax save.

I don't know what caused it and there are no errors reported. Any idea what could cause this?
Fields save if using the save button.
I don't have the edit button option selected these should all be using Ajax.

Anyone have an suggestion I can try?
