I have Flexicharge set up to apply charges based on geographical region to shippable products. I've also set up gift certificates, which are of course non-shippable. When a gift certificate is in the shopping cart, no matter what position (first, last, etc.) it is in, Flexicharge fails to apply.
My initial thought is that the code is written so that it looks for ALL products to be shippable instead of ANY in order to apply itself.

brmassa commentedFin,
its by design. the main reason is: you may want to create a "AND" conditions (location and product type and...). in order to create "OR" conditions (product type or product type or...) you might create another charge. it avoids further complexity.
i dont know if this explanation is clear... Post here for further comments.

massa

jimmypreserve commentedMassa,
I don't understand your explanation and I would you like to explain better my simple business-scenario in order to understand the issue:
Business scenario:
- Ever one non-shippable product in my cart
- two different flexicharge
- one gift-certificate
when I submit my order to PayPal no flexicharge or gift-certificate contribution are considered in total amount.
Example:
Price
Item ABC EUR 10
Fee x EUR 3
Fee y EUR 1
Discount (coupon) EUR -1,4
TOTAL EUR 12,60
When I try to pay with PayPal the total amount is EUR 10 despite flexicharge/coupon ' rows
Thanks in advance for your attention!
jimmy

Makes me want to try EC4 or Ubercart.

funkeyrandy commentedwell...i think there needs to be a real solution to this in ec3...ec4 is not even an official release and it defeats the whole purpose of the roles and the aggregation of flexicharges! not very flexi!
hopefully someone can point us in the right direction
