Hello,
I'm trying to setup a website store with eCommerce 3 (drupal5) module. I need an optional shipping option that the user can select if he need it.

Example:

[checkbox] check this if you wish your products to be sent by Registered Airmail (5 EUR)

And the system add EUR 5.00 to the order summary.

Could anyone help me about this issue, please?

we dont support this kind of feature in the way you are thinking. You will need to build another method that includes this option and another without it.

imagine FEDEX. if the user can buy an insurance for a shipping, so you must create each method with and without insurance.

suggestion 1: create 2 versions of the same product. one priced with insurance, the other without. If you have a lot of stock, or if insurance varies per country it's not really a good workaround.

suggestion 2: use the TAX module to add on an "insurance tax" and use the locale.module to change it from being displayed as "tax" to "insurance". I think you can set the tax per region, so that might be a better way to do it.
