I've tried everything I can think of, but I'm evidently doing something wrong because not all the tables load when I activate e-commerce and the associated tools that I want to use. Three tables in particular - ec_useracc, ec_product_parcel and ec_variation are a particular issue for me.
I'm working in drupal 5.1, I've tried starting from scratch and I only activate one module at a time. I've even tried using the current e-commerce 5.x-3.dev with exactly the same results.
Can someone please point me in the right direction? What do I have to do to get all the necessary tables to load?

gordon commentedThis generally happens when the instructions on how to install e-Commerce are not followed.

dougpetch commentedThanks for the less-than-helpful editorial commentary, Gordon. For the record, though, I installed and activated the core module and additional modules exactly IAW the instructions in the Readme.txt file, the module's online documentation and drupal's instructions for installing contributed modules.
So here's where I stand - I have disabled all e-commerce modules and uninstalled all that gave me that option under drupal. I have deleted the ecommerce module from my modules subdirectory and also checked that no ecommerce tables remain in my mysql database. What might I do next to get a clean and functioning install of e-commerce? Is there something I should be doing in mysql to ensure that no echoes of my previous install remains? Is there something else I should do in my subdirectory before reloading e-commerce? Am I holding my tongue correctly? I'm sure I'm missing something simple, and I'll take any constructive help anyone may want to offer.
And since this was marked as a duplicate I'd appreciate pointers to any applicable nodes. The ones I reviewed prior to posting my request did not resolve my issue but I'm sure I could have missed a few.

brmassa commentedDoug,
hmmm... uninstall, to Drupal, means one technical thing: its not on table system (or its marked as schema = 0).
try to delete all module entries on the table {system} by hand and restart. Maybe you deleted the modules before uninstall them.

massa
PS: im gonna mark it as fixed. any further comments, please let me know

dougpetch commentedThanks, Massa! That was most of what I needed to learn; the missing piece (that I'm posting here to help the next person to have this issue) was to also delete all ec_ entries in table {variables}. I took care of those 2 steps, reinstalled the ec module, activated each component individually and I'm up and running.
Probably simple common sense to those of you who work this stuff on a daily basis, but it was a learning experience for this rookie.

brmassa commentedDoug,
great. you did well. I dont know if all eC variables are marked as ec_ but if its running nicely now, thats what matters! Drupal6, as far i can tell, will work better with deleted modules (traying to uninstall them).

massa
